Member Garden Visits
We enjoyed a wonderful garden visit to our longtime member Cindy Chelovich’s beautiful home on June 26. What an amazing way to start our summer! Thank you Cindy!
On August 5th we had the pleasure of visiting member Shelley Farkas’ unique and creative gardens in Bloomfield Hills. Sitting on her cool and shaded deck overlooking the gorgeous woods on a breezy summer morning was such a special treat! Thank you Shelley!
Gardens of Qin
We had our last summer garden visit today and what a glorious one to end the summer with before we start our regular meetings on September 8!! We got to visit the beautiful gardens of Qin in Franklin who we affectionately call the ‘Dahlia Lady’! Qin is an expert dahlia grower and we loved seeing her home gardens bursting with dahlias of all sizes and colors. Thank you Qin! And thank you to this wonderful lady also for donating over 40 dahlias to the village Broughton Garden in Franklin and for teaching us so much about this incredible perennial!
Stop by the Broughton Garden, the garden our club maintains, by the Franklin Village office and see Qin’s dahlias in full bloom. They’re in their glory now in so many sizes and colors and give the garden late season life with a rainbow of all different shades! 🌺🌼🌸
We intrepid gardeners of the Franklin Garden Club braved some rain and had the absolute pleasure of visiting our member Sue Welcome’s amazing Bloomfield gardens. Sue has incredible vision, creativity and energy!
Her beautiful property has perennial gardens, a vegetable garden, unique sculpture and garden art, a Japanese karesansui garden, a huge labyrinth she and her son constructed, fairy gardens, a 100 year old maple, and they have our special Sue as their visionary and caretaker. Thank you Sue for the tour and your enthusiasm in telling us all about how your gardens have evolved over the years!
